I was lost in an enveloping void, inescapably isolated by the vast labyrinth of anomalous corridors. There was no escaping it; these bizarre halls would go on existing in this purgatorial state forever. This was a place human beings were never meant to see—the infinitely divisible in-between, where only the damned reside—The Back Rooms.

The transition from innocent adventure to psychological horror happened as fast as it matured me, yet the illusion of divine understanding was the bait that led deeper into torment. I pursued the mystifying gems of psychedelia, but with many of my discoveries veiled by delusion and enigma, the rewards of my ventures were missing. I had to go back, lest the magic of these experiences be forever lost to the past.

The result is this work: a collection of twisted stories and philosophies that I have sharpened into 13 lucid chapters. Each story stands individually, yet also reveals itself as a piece of the puzzle that is The Patterns of Existence.

These times were destined to be left to the past as fossilized gems in my memory. The only way to return to them is a story, and because of their oddity, I cannot refuse chronicling them. Nothing will be able to fully capture the feeling of these times, but the next best option is walking through them as an original experiencer instead of a guide. With each story comes a new circle of experience, indispensably linked to the zeniths and troughs of those that follow.

So plunge in to unveil the patterns within these stories of psychedelic voyage, fear, absurdity, and the divine. Laced with philosophy and swift progression, years of realization are condensed into moments. The full meaning remains an enigma, as I still wonder what it was all about, but now I humbly invite you to walk through with me.
